What a truly amazing book

I was stunned by the quality of this man's writing ability. His characters are amazing. The story line is rivetting. The development of the story line is masterful. His research abilities would appear boundless. I rate it amongst the most enjoyable books I have read. Kristian looks young and that is a God send. Hopefully there will be many more stories to follow.

Needs to hire an editor

I wanted to like this book but it just dragged on endlessly. I finally threw in the towel after 375 pages. I almost never quit a book after investing that much time. This book should have been 100 pages shorter. The author just tried to do too much but really failed to do much of anything well. The banter between the crew was dreadful.

Enjoyable read

I enjoyed this book and immediately went to purchase book 2. Wow,, book 1 was 546 pages for $9.99; and book 2 is $12.99 for 320 pages???? Contrary to some reviews, you're a long way from Bernard Cornwall. So I'm pretty much done with this author
